just another day

a poem written just for you and me

my life is just a long day today
I kiss the morning of my youth
but for now time
approaches a later hour
the night is sure to come

I am tired too
reaching out to grasp
the bliss of peaceful slumber

but when the darkness ends
I awake to a singing sunrise then
a golden morning again begins
turning once more into
just another long day today

I wondered if it was your real name but still I believe we all have the right to choose what we want others to call us. I really like your comment about writing with hope in our heart. You have to have hope else all is useless. :-)

Yes, you do. Hope is one of the only things that we can make constant in our lives. And yeah, I've always loved the name Luna. It just fits me better than the name I was given when born.

I absolutely love this. The voice of this poem is steady and reassuring, and hopeful, but with good reason to be. This makes me feel warm and full of acceptance. It is cyclical-it ends the way it begins so you can start over. This poem is a second chance. Thank you for this wonderful piece :)
