free falling

I'm falling.

I'm free falling from the blackest sky,

and no matter how hard i try,

there is nothing to grab onto.

there is no one there to catch me.

no one is here to save me.

im all alone.

heart beating faster and faster,

as i prepare for the worst disaster.

and suddenly ice cold water pierces my bare skin

and i feel noting on the outside or within

surrounded by pitch black and ice cold

yet its so peaceful here in this stronghold

i think ill stay here

maybe sink deeper and just disappear

yes, this is my new favorite place

where there is no time, just space

there is nothing to chase, there is no race

a beautiful empty embrace.

just me and the darkness.

one deep breath and water fills my lungs and stops my heart,

im ready to depart.

eyes closed, heart finally stops beating,

life is so beautifully defeating.

Having read this and 'Drowning' you could be accused by some of having a fixation with this type of dying. However, to me this reads not so much about drowning but more to do with the perceived peacefulness that accompanies the event. No worries, no stress, just you; free from all outside distractions, alone with yourself.

This was a wonderful piece of art. It had me captivated in the story you told...
It was a poem that I could really relate too. I know what it's like to be depressed. I have major depression and anxiety and it sucks. But where my source of joy comes from is writing. It helps me understand who I am and what I go through. These words are very real feelings that are very common in todays world. You are an extremely talented writer/author and I just want to let you know that, whenever you are going through something difficult or it just seems to much, just write! It will help you and others around you.
