A NIght In Hell

A NIght In Hell

A Poem by Danny J.H.
"

a poem about the dreams of the otherworld

"

A Night In Hell

The darkness strokes my restless face

The cold air penetrates my skin

My mind is off in another place

Where I ponder dreams akin

My prophecies and nightmares

Greet me with a smile

Evil doings and blank stares

Stretch mile after mile

No wind nor stars are here tonight

In my dreamy hell

Only monsters walk in sight

Not a soul I tell

I am taken to manor

One-thousand chambers high

Abode of awful grandeur

Satan’s palace in the sky

My thoughts have turned against me

Treat me they shan’t well

I have tried and cannot flee

From this haunted hell

We walk down many hallways

My evil thoughts and I

We climb up many stairways

Closer to the sky

I finally meet a dwelling

Who’s doors shut out the days

I confess I shan’t be telling

But I couldn’t help but gaze

Satan sat upon his throne

And looked right back at me

I knew right then when his eyes shone

That I would never be free

So Satan rose up from his chair

And uttered an evil hiss

He ordered me into his lair

To face my final bliss

Around my heart I felt his hands

Begin to squeeze and creep

But in another farther land

I woke up from my sleep

Well it doesn't really matter what font you write a poem in, a poem is a poem, remember. I like this poem. It's in my Top 5 list, definitely. I like poems about this top. Not because it is about death and how s**t my life is, but I like it because it is about how you interpret Hell in the afterlife. Just one thing: 'Around my heart I felt his hands, begin to squeeze and creep, but in another farther land, I woke up from my sleep.' I am confused. What does this mean? Was this afterlife just a dream for him, or what? Apart from that, good poem.
