Season's Breath

Season's Breath

A Poem by Aldora Sparrow
"

Three haikus for each season

"

Summer
Days of burning sun
Raging like fiery passions
Will it ever end?
Waiting for coolness
Many restless, sleepless nights
Dreams of cold waters
Darkness falls, look out
See the lights, see those fireflies
Flickering like stars

Fall
A new cold wind blows
Bringing new shades of color
To the once-green leaves
A kaleidoscope
Beautiful red, brown, yellow
The waltz of colors
Life slowly ending
Fleeing to a death-like sleep
Waiting and hoping

Winter
The dance of white starts
Raining ice cold on the world
That is still, quiet
Glimmering crystals
Priceless jewels that fade slowly
Few moments to live
Freezing, chilling sigh
The cold that is always there
Warmth is almost here

Spring
A warm breath sweeps through
Stirring the long-dormant world
With its wings of green
Coat of ice melting
The frozen air becomes warm
Winter is no more

See those flowers bloom
Rivers flowing, birds singing
New life starts again

...
... a scintillating haiku string ... incrediby inspiring and astonishingly vivid ... "days of burning sun" ... "dreams of cold water" ... "fireflies flickering like stars" ... amazingly expressive imagery ... gorgeous alliteration ... what a summer ... "a kaleidoscop" ... "the waltz of colours" ... "fleeing to a death-like sleep" ... are expressions and images that take fall into a surreal world ... the mark of a visonary poet ... one who paints on nature with words ... as much as nature paints on the poet's mind ... excellence incarnate ... "the dance of white starts" ... "glimmering crystals" ... "freezing, chilling sigh" ... are enthralling expressions ... a ballet of beautiful words and images on ice ... charming and epic ... a winsome winter ... "a warm breath sweeps through" ... "with its wings of green" ... "winter is no more" ... a heart-warming welcome to spring ... gentle and magical ... beautifully felt and written ... this haiku string is an ode to the form that celebrates it in all its glory and splendour ... exceptionally well written ... and exceptionally well presented ... thank you for writing this and thank you for sharing it ... this is an unforgettable feast for the soul ...
