Killing the Country

Killing the Country

A Poem by Iretex2012

Land once used for agricultural purpose

Has now  been sold for retail and cookie cutter homes

This is killing Mother Earth one sq foot at a time

Development and building to evils in this world

We need to slow down and reuse what already have in Texas in steady of creating new problems

Tearing up the untouched vringn land of Texas and making room for people

Getting rid of natures most beautiful gift the Texas Blue Bonnet or other wild flowers

I feel that the woods that I played in as a little girl have disappeared off the map

I miss my childhood get away

I miss the country

The city limits are getting very close to me

Within this year I will an Austine

Very disheartening, and to add to it... they paved over all the woods I played in as a kid, too. I wish the Native Americans would have just scared the darn Pilgrims away when they arrived at the shores.... America would still be beautiful, and nature would still be honored, not plundered.
A few typos here and there, which don't really bother me, just thought I'd mention in case you care, lol.
A very fitting and universal write.... I just wish it weren't true. : (
