on the inside, she is dying 

rotting from the inside out

 

she feels like a corpse that's been reawakened

only to find that life holds nothing for her anymore

 

pain lingers

like an unwanted guest at thanksgiving

 

and eats away at her soul

 

loneliness is what she comes home to

and she can't seem to file a divorce

 

the world spins on around her

but she stays still

 

because the pain has gotten too much to bear
