floating away

Feeling far and lost at sea

Little by little losing parts of me

Out in the open

Anchor-less and afraid

Tethered to nothing and tossed by the waves

Incapable, incompetent, in constant distress

Never having knowledge of where to find rest

Gaining momentum but never direction 

Adrift and alone and away from connection 

Wayward wanderer wondering what lies ahead

Anticipating hope

Yet losing to dread
