Center of my universe

This is an ode to my mother. I took some inspiration from a fellow writer and wrote a peom about the center of my universe my mother

Center of my universe...do not ever leave

What would I,a tiny insignificant planet, do if you, my personal sun, were not there for me to orbit

Who would encourage me to grow and live...to be creative and crazy..to be loving and brave

I love dancing at your feet...trying on your clothes...wearing your jewelry

All just so I can be a tiny bit like you

 

Center of my universe...do not ever leave

Who would sing to me...hold me when I feel there is nothing right with the world

I watch you camly applying makeup...preparing a meal...removing a stain from my shirt

Oh one day I hope to be just a tiny bit like you

What would a daughter ever do without her mother?

Who would she emulate and secretly admire?

Who would she one day pray

to be just a tiny bit like, if not her mother...

The center of her universe?
