Echoes of Memories

Echoes of Memories

A Poem by Darkwaters

It is on days like these when she
is lost inside the balled
memories
like tangled yarn

It was her shattering that I still hear
in the faint sounds of two years
words
are what killed her

All I could think to do was
sweep her off the floor
the clinking shards still
echo
somewhere in her universe

I happen upon, from time to time,
her sharp little pieces
stabbing
me back to that old yarn

Very sharp writing built upon a really outstanding image of the past being like shards of glass. I really like the way it gives visceral sensations to internal feelings that would otherwise be hard to describe.

Very pretty. Flows wonderfully... and I wonder if the shards were that of glass or of a mirror? Symbolically.

this, i think, is a wonderful example of distinction -- though i'm not sure why its here and how you use it (if its what you mean to do, and, why? i guess is what i mean). still, the images of glass shards and yarn balls? its an interesting duality, though the sense isn't very clear... it may not have to be, but its an interesting schema
thanks for sharing,

I really liked this poem, you can feel the woman's pain as the passerby sees her withering away. Great write. :)
