Suicide

Suicide

A Poem by DarrinReay

There was a girl that i used to know,
She was hurting everyday,
All that she really wanted,
Was for the pain to go away.

Then one night she wrote a letter to her family,
Saying she would always be by their side,
She grabbed and tied the noose,
And committed suicide.

The effect it had on others was overwhelming,
Cause it hurt a lot of them more than you'd know,
And if you really think about it,
It really just goes to show.

That everybody in the world is loved,
Everybody has someone by their side,
But it doesn't change the fact that some lies,
Caused this girl to commit suicide.

Now all that they can ever think about,
Everyday and twenty four seven,
Is the lies that caused her hurt,
And caused this girl to enter heaven.

You can't believe what you're told,
Because most of it isn't true,
And the lies hurt other people,
Oh if you only knew.

Very sad , but true . I have met people who have turned suicidal because of lies told by their families , friends , and partners for years . It does hurt . This is nicely written . Keeping writing , cause I look forward to reading more of your work .

I love the message of this, I'm pretty sure that the majority of people in our world have been affected by this, someone they care about and love taking their own life, because when those people take their lives, they don't understand how much there are still people who care about them. This really made me think about things and it brought lots of tears to my eyes. There's lot of emotion I this poem, and it tells a great and meaningful, yet sad and heartbreaking story.

This is definitely my favorite part...

"Now all that they can ever think about,

And caused this girl to enter heaven.

You can't believe what you're told,
Because most of it isn't true,
And the lies hurt other people,
Oh if you only knew. "

Beautiful and touching poem, I love this.

Dark theme and you know me and dark themes but nonetheless, the mechanics are improving and the meter is better. I would like to see you use more two-syllable words in rhyming but that's just me. I liked this and it served a worthy message.

This really is amazing. People don't understand that one little word can send someone over the edge. Words hurt. People need to realize that. There would be a lot more people in the world today if they did. Xx
