If Heaven Had A Phone

If Heaven Had A Phone

A Poem by DarrinReay
"

My Gran has just passed away and this is for her - Rest in peace.

"
I wish that heaven had a phone,
Because I’d be calling you all night,
Oh if heaven had a phone,
I’d whisper for you to sleep tight,
If only heaven had a phone (if heaven had a phone),
I’d tell you that you’re my guiding light.

I dreamt a dream last night,
That you were floating above me,
And then you spread your wings,
For the whole world to see,
And you had that smile (the smile that I miss),
And then you gave me (gave me a goodbye kiss),
You reached our your hand,
You flew me up into the sky,
And wiped away my tears,
As I began to cry,
Then I woke up and remembered you weren’t here,
And I joined my hands and prayed for you my dear.

I wish that heaven had a phone,
Because I’d be calling you all night,
Oh if heaven had a phone,
I’d whisper for you to sleep tight,
If only heaven had a phone (if heaven had a phone),
I’d tell you that you’re my guiding light.

I know that each day,
And twenty four seven,
You are watching over me,
As an angel up in heaven,
But I still feel lost (lost without your love),
So please send me (send my kisses from up above),
And be my guardian angel,
And be my best friend,
Be my saviour,
Right until the very end,
I won’t let you go cause this is not goodbye,
Because when we reunite in heaven you’ll welcome me with a ‘hi’.

I wish that heaven had a phone,
Because I’d be calling you all night,
Oh if heaven had a phone,
I’d whisper for you to sleep tight,
If only heaven had a phone (if heaven had a phone),
I’d tell you that you’re my guiding light.

Amazing grave how sweet the sound.

I wish that heaven had a phone,
Because I’d be calling you all night,
Oh if heaven had a phone,
I’d whisper for you to sleep tight,
If only heaven had a phone (if heaven had a phone),
I’d tell you that you’re my guiding light.

your love for her comes through my friend....and being a Granddad myself I found this to be a very touching poem...I try not to think of my future

First, I am very sorry for your loss. I lost my great grandmother not too long ago and I was closer to her than most would think. Sometimes you just wish you could hear them talk, laugh, tease you one last time. Great piece, very relatable
