Lazuline Pearls

Lazuline Pearls

A Poem by David W Moore III
"

an exerpt from From the Midst of the Maelstrom © 2010 David W Moore III

"
Just when the first note begins,
the obsidian cowl nods,
and it ends.
Infinite reflection
reveals nothing:
no effervescent brook
no dialating candescence
no opus magnum
just a note
echoing hauntingly.

Oh sing a song!
Sing a song never begun.
Only the echo remains.

Lazuline pearls drop
bounce and return.
The vacuum resonates
reverberates
searching
longing
yearning
instruments at hand,
trembling slightly.

Oh sing a song!
Sing a song never begun.
Only the echo remains.

The chromic rale
and ursula tamed
waiting
anticipating
humming
thrumming
the void tugging
pulling to be filled.

Oh sing a song!
Sing a song never begun.
Only the echo remains.
Rejoined by the cosmic choir.
The echo remains
echo remains
remains.

evocative of something in and on a grand scale...and yet with such descriptives as nothing echoe longing vaccuum and void to effectively reflect that something haunts as an absentee...i see the pearls fall...hear their thud thud thud thud upon the floor and sense some deep and eternal sadness in the song that never began...it is a song all the same...creating a sad ambience for which...i suppoose...you were aiming...strong piece...i respect and appreciate its existence...

There is so much within this love! A universal recognition and also the echo of nostalgia:)
A profound piece of work, truly moving!
Reunion, a moment shared to remember, beauty recaptured!
Glorious work!
Kudos love!

Wow. It's really good. It reminds me of some poem I read in English class that I hated only because I was forced to read it. This poem is vastly similar except I enjoyed reading it while at the same time I knew just how good it was. It's excellent, I must give you that. Your repetition and title was especially good. Nice job.

'Oh sing a song!
Sing a song never begun.
Only the echo remains.'

i feel this so deeply, almost too deeply inside .. there's immense sadness, a veil, a shadow you can't lose ..

such beautiful words ..
