Broken

Broken

A Poem by Dawn

She sat in the corner with an empty flask in her hand

A feeling of hope no longer her demand

Sobriety was something she could no longer stand

The innocence had finally come to an end.

More white powder to numb the pain

But it all remains the same

And only she is left to blame

For a life of endless shame.

No one understood the inner battles she fought

Forgetting all her influences taught

And now at this moment she is brought

To end every single pointless thought.

Emotions took over and so it must be

All she ever wanted was to be free

But believing all she can do now is flea

Because no one was there to hear her plea.

Broken dreams and empty promises she held so deep

Those feelings of anger she refused to keep

It was time to make that final leap

And enter into an eternal sleep.
