There You Were

There You Were

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

There you were all this time

Standing beneath the shadows

Taking darkness to bring you to light.

There you were like a sweet sunrise

Bringing rays of new born hope

To midnights never ending loneliness.

There you were with angelic eyes

Keeping me insight until I was harmed

Now returning as if from heaven.

There you were now here you are

Shattering the pain around my heart.

There you were till the time was right

Just please say you’ll stay in my life.

you've reclaimed your romantic soul with this one - a wonderfully penned heartfelt piece - fav lines:

"There you were like a sweet sunrise
Bringing rays of new born hope
To midnights never ending loneliness.
There you were with angelic eyes
Keeping me insight until I was harmed
Now returning as if from heaven."

I'm out of words that would do justice to this piece - in my favs!

*hugs*

'There You Were'
Rock and Roll Cowboy,
As I read this the thought occurred, how many times do we all appear in another's life at just the right time? It would be neat to be able to go back in time and see the intricate pattern of people coming into our lives and we into there's at just the right time. This is a love poem but all relationships are also so important. I loved the last line and it's vulnerable quality.....
'There you were till the time was right
Just please say you'll stay in my life.'
Lovely and inspiring piece to say the least.
Blessings,
Kathy

I could feel the undercurrent of hope and desperation flow through this write, i had to read it again....to try to convince myself not to see too much here....for it almost feels as if i try to be this person...'bringer of light'....someone told my mom that is what i was, the phrase stuck in my head....

okay, i wrote too much...tell me to come back and delete this...lol..

"taking darkness to bring you light" was my fav line. I like the whole finding happy in the dark or different sort of spectrum. Very nice, you sound very very sincere.

This is glorious! How wonderful it is to have someone who will wait for us, love us, no matter what we do to them, or what we do to ourselves, they stay and they wait. This is definately poetry for those angels. I have had a couple of these in my life, and have written stories of them. I think this is a passionate piece of work. It's well written and I love the format.

How absolutely perfect. Everything we need in life is usually beneath our noses... that blind spot most of us have. LOL Really wonderful write. Well expressed and technically organized. It flows naturally. Fine work.

~soft sigh~
Sweet, intoxicating. I can roll it around in my senses. Surround myself in its warmth.
Decadence with a hint of chocolate and cream.
Your words are like Christmas morning and I can't help but stare with stars in my eyes and love in my soul.

Too beautiful!
Brava!
