I asked MomzillaNC to come up with a title for a poem and I would write a poem based on that title.

Behind The Sun’s Smile.

 

 

There is much talk

About the smile

That casts hope

In the midnight sky

Making sure

The world never falls into total darkness.

 

But what about the smile

That is never seen

In the light of day?

Taken for granted

Because its purpose

Is clearly obvious though never clearly seen.

It shines without fail

Even when covered

By clouds.

 

Yes the man in the moon smile can be seen

In the still of the night,

But it is the sun’s smile

That is the epitome

Of the phrase

“Seeing isn’t believing ,believing is seeing.”

Blessed is he who has not seen, and still believes. There are whispers of faith in this poem, even if you did not intend to put them there. It's easy to believe in the sun and the moon. They rarely disappear completely. But to believe in what's behind the sun and moon, what put them there and gave them purpose? That's a bit more challenging! Very nicely done, sir.

For me that globe of fiery light in the sky offers hope. Whether seen or not. But I can't resist the sun's rays and at every opportunity will seek them out. A glint of sunlight on a dark day is a powerful reminder. As I respond here the early morning sun has just made an appearance. What a difference that can make. The sun is so uplifting. Another challenge successfully completed Dale.
