Carved And Weitten Don’t Mix

Carved And Weitten Don’t Mix

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

The lights of midnight

Can expose the skeletons

In the casket

If the sacred grounds are tainted

by the flesh left behind.

Nobody can really say

If the eulogy

That goes unwritten

Because the blood was dry

is a sign of heaven or hell.

But one thing is certain,

If it is written in the stars

and carved in stone.

Double jeopardy

Has the last word.

I agree with Sami, that this feels more like a philosophical piece than a Halloween piece. I doubt anyone has written anything this thought-provoking for Halloween this past season! I love how everything is stated in a matter-of-fact way, not trying to be dramatic or scary (((HUGS)))

Thank you for that great insight on my poem
Whoeeee! This poem is deep and worthy dear Cowboy. You are waxing philosophical here.
I feel you are exposing human's hidden frailties, hypocrisies and showy nature that has not authenticity. We, as humans, feel we are in control. We will all come to find out not so. We need to humble ourselves and come to new realizations.
Bravo, sir...
