The true depth of A Shallow Puddle

The true depth of A Shallow Puddle

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

The true depth of A Shallow Puddle

When Raindrops converge

In one particular spot

There is no telling

How deep it is.

Because we don’t take the time to look

What is below the puddle,

For there are so many things we do not see

As we walk on after making a small splash in the world.

That is when all humanity must ask,

Who is shallower?

The puddle,

Or the person that step on it

Without looking back at the ripples that follow.

that is so true, thank you Pat
A very deep metaphor is the puddle. We should always be mindful of whose we step in.

Your welcime
The puddle could be representative of humans and, in today's world, many will step on others without a second thought or look. This shallow puddle that you write of is very deep. This encourages the reader to think and, take a look at themselves and ask ourselves, are we shallow? Do we look at the ripples? I certainly do! Thank you for sharing this thought provoking poem. thank you for that deep review
in a society where self is more important than community, where the "pursuit of happiness" is the morality, most human beings will not care about the affects they have or leave on people, or the world around them.... but sometimes the world has it's revenge by making the person who stepped in that puddle, overturn their ankle.... a painful lesson in reality if one is willing to learn....

and if I can continue your metaphor Dale, I say you have written a very deep puddle (poem)...

Thank you so very much
I always look at the ripples...I wonder what that makes me.
and How deep is love...when we splash into it...what do the ripples tell us?

Hello, Cowboy! :)
There must be depth in these thoughts of shallowness. Thanks for sharing.

This had a deep message. We don't know what lies in a puddle, is it shallow or is it deep, and do we look back to see what ripples we've caused by stepping into that puddle? No, we walk past it. I think the message here is that we don't know the repercussions for our small actions. We stepped into the puddle, didn't look at the ripples, it could cause a problem.... this piece was interesting because it takes a fairly innocent topic such as a puddle and creates a deeper meaning. Thanks for sharing!
