Echoes

Echoes

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Echoes of your lying words

Still beat on my eardrums

Withering away the seems

Till I fall deaf to love’s call.

Echoes of the roaring pain

Vibrate off the walls of my heart

Causing cracks along the chambers

Detaching my veins from the living.

Echoes of my future crumbling

Traps my feelings in darkness

With no real hope of escape

Taking my last breath of hope.

Echoes of faith descend from the clouds

Upon the sunrays of a new day

Standing before me is an angel

That makes heaven not so far away.

She’s the prayer I didn’t ask for

She’s the miracle I longed for

She’s the complete opposite of you

She’s the wings wrapped around my heart

She’ everything I could have asked for

And so much more.

She’s my echo of true love rising above every mountain.

hehe, you know? I was married for five years which doesn't seem like a long time, but... Every girl I dated for two years was just like my ex wife. Whether she looked like her or acted like her, there were always similarities...

Enough about me... lol Your poem doesn't really rhyme, but it reads like it does which takes talent to pull off. You probably didn't realize you were doing it, as we seldom do, but the talent demands to have a voice one way or another. Terrific job on this piece and it is an enjoyable read (:

This was beautiful. For me poems about true love never really rang true to me so they never really appealed to me much. I thought they were nice, pretty perhaps but nothing ever more than that. This one is wonderful though, I liked the progression a lot. There was something about the last two stanzas that made the whole piece come together. Keep on writing!

She's the complete opposite of you

Wow. These words ring in my head like being slammed with a mallot how powerful they are. The imagery throughout this piece really packs a punch and I can feel the emotions pulsating through it as I read.

She's the complete opposite of you

This is so dynamic in it's emphasis on a of voice speaking of comparing one good thing to another, so as to leave the reader with a sense of what is good and what is not. This is a thought so grossly overlooked in the emotional world we delve into when contemplating on such issues. So often when we love another human being or even another creature we forget to point out to ourselves how that creature rates in comparison to other creatures deserving of love or otherwise. This is a very compelling piece to say the least. Very well penned, indeed.

Great to read something positive and hope-filled Dale. It sounds as if things are looking up?
You have cleverly built this to a crescendo in the last stanza. Much thought has gone into this piece, the repetition of 'Echoes' is not distracting, on the contrary, it brings your reader back to its basic message.
Kudos from me...

This is a piece of fresh air. I love the feeling that I got when I read through the lines. The beginning sounds less hopeful, but the end is glorious with the hope that radiates.
