Touch/Feel

Touch/Feel

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

I touch the candle

To light the flame

Reminding me of

The light in your eyes.

As I await your return

To this house so cold

Turning it back into

A home so warm.

I touch the sheets

We lay between

Sharing dreams and

Fight nightmares as one.

I can feel

Our future firmly built

On the foundation

Of every treasured memory.

Upon your return

I touch my chest

To feel what beats

Only for you.

I touch your hand

Tracing my fingers

Along your silky skin

Like feathers from heaven.

Suddenly I can feel

The rush of passion

Flowing through your skin

That baptizes me with life.

I touch your heart

With no hands

I feel your love

No strings attached.

I touch your heart

With no hands

I feel your love

No strings attached.

but wait... not yet..
Let me say.. that where Jealousy is not present.. Love is there.. so pure and yet so fragile..
You are a romantic at heart.. and a lover in the soul
I never knew it until now.. and this is such a beautiful poem.. made by the heart of a man..
Lucky you..

I guess we all interprete something based on how we are feeling, today my heart is in pain.

Why are we willing to give all that we have with "No strings attached"? Why should we "Await your return" to feel? Why does it have to be cold until "I feel your love"? Why do we live in yesterday with "Every treasured memory"? Why can't we simply love without the agony of sadness that is said to make us stronger?

You hustlin' Cowboy! I see what you're doing! Getting all the girls in the Cafe all bothered and everything! I understand! Great write once again. I felt the passion in great moments such as:

"Upon your return
I touch my chest
To feel what beats
Only for you."

Great moment for me though I may need to borrow that on open mic night next week! You evoke passion in a great way. Not cheesy or sappy, but still romantic and level. Great write!

"Upon your return

I touch my chest

To feel what beats

Only for you." this is a gorgeous write. everyone longs to be loved like this, someone whose heart beats for you. this is a beautiful love poem, so breath-taking and refreshing to see, for so many love poems are of loss. this one is of a true love in the present. a truly gorgeous write.
