Heartland

Heartland

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Upon the azure stage

Floats every open minded imagination

Designing heaven's floor; allowing

Comforting thoughts of loved ones

To rest on airy pillows of tears.

These are not the wet sorrow kind; contrary:

Salty droplets of nourishment that replenish

The soul of the earth; therefore

Nurturing the lifeline of every

Daydreamer, nightwalker and child of the grave

Giving us all that one bond; there by

Keeping something to believe in

         Beating in the heartland.

Well, we all make our heavens and hells in one way or another I think, whether real or imaginary. I really enjoyed this piece, it has a warmth and a simple faith that is comforting to read and "heartland" takes on a metaphysical meaning in the metaphor. Very good writing.

I like this darlin...but re-look at the first line.

Did you mean to say blue blue? I have no complaints about this floaty piece...just wondering about the very first line.
You know you have good writing skills....

Edit for new review....that first line is perfect just like that!

These closing lines simply drove the whole piece home, for me. Dale, your Mastery is amazing. You take and look in the heart of the matter, the truth of what is. Taking your wisdom and incorporating it into something that really paints the picture for others to see. Outstanding.
