Last In Line

 

Every time I have tried

To be the romantic

And making the girl feel

Like my princess.

 

But just like clockwork

I get left behind

For the mean ogre

Under the bridge.

 

I am always last in line

Behind the bad guy.

Well now I am stepping out

To walk down a road…

 

Wide enough for one.

I have been down that road many times. I think you have put it well into words how it feels to walk alone. You try to hard, then not enough..... finally exaspirating each other. The road might seem lonely at times, but less painful in the end.

I can really relate to this one in many ways. It seems to be the way of life that the nice guys seem to wind up with a royal b@#%$ and the nice gals wind up with their sons. LOL

Sometimes the one who chooses the 'bad boy' does so because she has low self esteem and deep down, perhaps unconsciously, she doesn't think she deserve to be happy or treated well, and that you are too good to her. She may be afraid of falling off that pedestal being treated like a princess has put her on. Then there are those who mistakenly think that if they give the bad boy lots of love, he will change. Maybe some have a martyr syndrome or like to feel superior to their mate. Sadly, it is only after learning things the hard way, they discover that while opposites may attract, they will not make each other happy in the long run.

That road wide enough for one is a wise choice. When you are content to be alone and enjoy your own company, you put out vibes that just may attract the mate meant for you. It seems to be true that the right one seems to drop into your life when you are not looking for someone. So hang in there, my friend. Take time to let your heart mend.....sorry you are going through this again.

I've seen time and again the girl that goes for the 'bad boy,' I too was once this girl. It just takes time for them to grow up and realize that being under appreciated and unhappy is not exactly the best way to go. Just stay patient she's out there promise! Maybe you just have to conform her to your good boy ways haha.
