Simply Put

Simply Put

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

If you must capture the moment

please leave off the flash

when taking this picture of my heart

so when it expresses the hope

the glare doesn’t hide the pain.

display it in a plain frame

so you don’t sugar coat

the details of the lines on my face.

When you insist on drawing a portrait

all I ask is it be done in charcoal, not colors

for I don’t want to be defined or stereotyped,

simply seen as a human with a face.

i ilke how he prefers to maintain his anonymity.capturing his face or drawing it in charcoal will still not be able to hide the pain he feels inside.

Oh, I really like this one. See me for who I really am, don't glorify me after I'm gone vibe here. Nicely done.

ahhhh yes yes I like this. I like the sentiment of being seen (and also seeing others) as human beings with souls. I think sometimes we forget that in our exchanges with fellow humans. Very nice!

this is honest and yet dark and colorless, i like the style of it. you want things to be in plain sight, everything to be as real as possible. i see a dimly lit room, old and dusty as i read this, with barely spoken of pain radiating within the dust that flows on the air. this is a good poem

Simply said, simply put, simply the thoughts of most, to be seen as simply human.

Don't worry no-one would make you a stereotype. I like the reasons for no flashes and a charcoal drawing. Some artist wanted to draw my face. Told me I had life and mystery. I guess it a polite way. I have a old and interesting face. Thank you for sharing the thoughts and excellent poetry.
