Down And Dirty

Down And Dirty

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

The more I drive along this dirt road

the more things never change.

Every mile makes it harder to see

and my view of life gets grittier.

The window covered with muck

makes the world one color

and I was not made

to see everything the same way.

That is why I have decided

to abandon this vehicle

and go about it on foot.

Though it may take me longer

but I will be able to remember

where I was and whom I met.

Besides I am in no rush

for this journey to end.

Sometimes life can be very blurred, and cloudy, even fuzzy, in this excellent metaphor you use but the trick is to turn the wipers on, on time lol
I liked the dark, and depressive ondertone in this one, some writings need to have this, to see things positive again after... Loved it.

Good to see the world face to face at times then we can pick up on the realities we woul normally miss in a 'drive by'. Realistically real your post. Thanks for showing your perspective on life.

Thank you sir.
Very true....sometimes you just have to step out and admire your surroundings to truly enjoy life. The color of life disappears so easily behind layers of lies, betrayal, and pain. But once you step aside and begin to tread a new path, the layers slowly peel off, leaving only the essence of your true self and the beauty that surrounds you.

No problem. Just returning the favor. Plus I think I'm becoming a fan :-)
This is a great image. We get a snapshot of you walking away from the car, out in the middle of nowhere. That image works really well with your theme. This piece is covered road dirt, hitchhiking (or not), and I dig it.

This to me is a great metaphor for someone restless for adventure and change. It's good for the soul to see things in a different light now and then and to explore life.

Exactly sir.
Excellent metaphor, Cowboy ;) I have heard many times the definition for insanity is to keep doing it the same way over and over expecting different results. This poem shows that changing one small thing can make the difference.

Thanks so much brie... Your thoughts are always welcome.
sometimes you need to get off the ride and get back to the basics..besides a slower pace doesn't stop you getting there..you just get to take in the view..I can't imagine you ever changing my friend.

You are so right about the back to basics... I couldn't change if I tried and I wouldn't want to :)
No words minced. This is why I love your work.
