Too Strong To Fall(Too Tough To Stand)

Too Strong To Fall(Too Tough To Stand)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

I see the eye of the hurricane

whenever we get into a staring contest.

In these moments it is like being frozen in time

like a fly caught in a spider’s web.

I never struggle to get free

instead simply pretend I am in a cocoon.

Every time you stand your ground

I feel mine getting sturdier.

Huff and puff with all your might

my lung capacity just keeps getting larger.

Your unstoppable force meeting

my immoveable object

keeps our structure from falling either way

making these walls earthquake proof

even though we put each other six feet under.

So very true, thank you.
Two headstrong people...you capture the tension perfectly. And this poem is very true. They will never back down, even in death. Awesome poem! :)

Woo, sounds like a volatile relationship, the earth has to quake sooner or later. Love the metaphors, weather always sweeps it together nicely, especially in the eye of this kind of typhoon. Great one Dale.

Always a pleasure to hear from you, glad you liked it.
The Cafe has changed a lot. But it's nice to read the exceptional and beautiful work of an old friend. You still have great flowing ink.

My pleasure.
Strong metaphoric language here. And there is a great message throughout. But that last stanza had some serious power behind it; two stubborn titans. better to die/ than to love each other. Evocative.
