Death by sophistication

Is very likely

When you choke on words

Larger than your vocabulary.

Feeding on knowledge

Is not about

Devouring the biggest meat

On the topical menu,

Rather taking in healthy portions

Of what suits your curious appetite.

Speaking of suits,

I don’t wear one

Because I do not own

A high priced degree,

But make no mistake,

My t-shirt diploma

Gives me all the style I need

To get respect on this catwalk

Called the streets.

:: hahahaha... superbly written and expressed... :: i thought it would be slightly tough to sustain the brilliance of the first four lines in the rest of the poem... but i am delighted to find that the rest of the poem is as brilliant... and now i want a black t shirt that says nothing in front... and at the back... it says... "my t shirt diploma gives me all the style i need"... :)

Oh, I wish I could express myself on this piece better.. but I can't… Love it.. in so many ways !
I do love learning new words..but don't bury me in them
Reminds me of an old acquaintance that came into my home, and said out loud as he walked in " Your home is "sacrilegious" ! , He meant it as a compliment..but used a word that he had no idea of its meaning… of course I made a bee line to my dictionary( after he left) to reassure myself of what the meaning was ! lol I like Serah .. "Love the shirt" idea !
