Fireworks

The night explodes with the desire

To let freedom ring God’s will across the world.

This is the time when the stars realize

That their purpose is not in vain

Because alien life forms mimic them.

Celebrating is how we honor

Those past and present that have lived

Their life making sure our freewill thrives.

So many ways and reasons to celebrate this day,

Even if our rights are on life support

For even when winds of change

Are blowing the wrong way

Fire works even harder by spreading faster

Than the speed of justice and liberty.

I like this one, political, I always love political poems. This is a very delicate time in our country and we are in need of a positive voice and remind us what the fireworks are all about and the fires that should be extinguished. good job.
