Fire And Ice

A flame has no purpose

Inside of an iceburg.

An ice cube has no existence

Within a wild fire.

Yet a working fireplace has its place

During a long cold winters night

And a popsicle brings some relief

On a hot July day.

The irony of contradiction

Is the benediction delivered by Mother Nature.

Blessed are those who believe in

The unpredictability of human nature.

dear Dale... if you are asked to sit and watch a flower grow...
you might say...I do not have time. however, people watch each other grow
into many different personalities... depending on what is happening and how they feel

you just never know do ya? but you can believe that there is a white spot in a black soul and a black spot in a white soul, there is always that small element of yin and yang that balances us all, and makes it impossible to 100 percent of the time predict a human reaction to any given situation.

i really like the use of cold within warm and vice-versa...the ironies show well the contradictions
and an understanding on why some who have such warm hearts might exude a cold exterior for many reasons...fear of hurt etc. But then those who show a warm exterior can trick us...and later we find the heart is an iceberg.

but i must let you know, i had to stop in the middle and go get a sweater...
