You Can't Beat The Clock

You Can't Beat The Clock

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Inspired from something said in a movie today.

"

Destined dreams become pale

in the deepest crater

so come away from the dark side

of the moon

to see the glorious reflections

of your bright mind.

In your head

seeing may be believing

but believing what you don’t see

Shouldn’t become fiction.

Remember you’re never too old

to dream

and never too young to die.

Though you can’t beat the clock

you sure can challenge life.

darkside - dark side

n the moon -- "n" the moon?

Shouldn't -- shouldn't

Okay, my little nitpicking aside, I want to know, what movie was it that inspired you so?

You can't beat the clock but you can make every tick and every tock count as much as possible.

An interesting write for you Cowboy. You seem to be expanding your writing horizons lately and I am liking it! :)

Loved those lines. It is so easy to stay on the negative side of things with all that goes on in this world around us and finding the positive sometimes takes great effort.

Challenging life is anti "go with the flow" talk... lol

This is really cool... Did you ever see "What the Bleep do we Know?" It has some really trippy things mentioned... in fact, I think it is called "What the Bleep? Down the Rabbit Hole" and I highly recommend it!

Well done, and well painted imagery... Not too complicated, yet it was still able to tie up my mind for a bit. (:

I like this.. it has truth running all the way through it - sort of moralistic AND, it's a fine piece of writing. You've included some great phrases:

In your head
seeing may be believing
but believing what you don't see
Shouldn't become fiction.

I had to think about those lines, work out the negatives (Emma < slow!) and realised, finally, that there's so much truth in them. As to the last two lines.. same.

Thank you for sharing.

This is absolutely fantastic, I love it. I wouldn't change anything about it except maybe the part ( never to old to die ---- to ------ never to old to live ) because that's what the poem is about.

We're only as old as our dreams or thoughts. We can sit around lamenting our age or get up and live our dreams and as you say "challenge life " , stop living our lives in the dark, in a deep dark hole. Come to the surface and live in the glorious sunlight.

This goes to my favorite's Dale. I absolutely love it. Keep on writing !!!!!!!!!

Wow, I really like this poem. It has such deep meaning and really makes you think about how you are living your life. Only a Truly Great Mind could come up with such interesting thoughts. That would be you my friend. "Never to old to dream, Never to old to die" "Can't beat the clock but sure can challange life". Amazing... A wonderful write, good title too. Congrats.... ;)

Wise, inspiring words, my friend :)
I agree that we are never too old to dream, in fact, without hope of a better day...life is pretty boring LOL
Very nice, Dale!
