Final Performance(One Man Show)

Final Performance(One Man Show)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Methodical madness is a bound

When lights, camera, action

Bring no emotional sound.

Acting without a stage

Is a crime to reality

And the reason to believe

In the magic of mirrors.

If life imitates art

Then your reflection

Should win an Oscar.

The script is written

For your death bed scene

Yet the curtain call

Remains in dress rehearsal.

Longing to have

Roses thrown at your feet

Yet not wanting to take that final bow

Knowing full well your requiem

Has already been composed

And applauded.

Life is but a backdrop to the stage we build for ourselves to stand on. The sun and moon spotlight our show, while the stars serve as a record for performances. Is the show fiction or a melodramatic event of historic value? One never truly knows. All we truly know is the play by which others see and judge us by. And even then we sometimes get caught up in our own farce. Remarkably Outstanding piece, Dale. Wonderful read that was enjoyed very much!

"If life imitates art

I suppose it's about not being ready to take the next step, the final step to achieving a goal. maybe it's because of fear of failure or fear of the unknown. Or it's like when you change your whole life for the better but you end up missing your old life like hell.
Yes, I most likely just wrote a nonsense review.

Wow...
Methodical madness is a bound
When lights, camera, action
Bring no emotional sound.

Such power in this stanza.

Yet not wanting to take that final bow
Knowing full well your requiem
Has already been composed
And applauded.

Such wisdom in this stanza...none of us want to take that final bow but all of us know that eventually it is going to happen...so haunting. Excellent job my friend!

This insight on how we are our own actors of our lives is amazing. It really made me sit back and think.. "Hmm.." This might be my favorite of all because its dark and mysterous yet it the words are so full of light- Am I making any sense? Anyway, I love your work- you already know that

Hmmm intriguing piece. It's dark and sounds to me like someone overstayed their welcome. I like the reminder that we are all in our own personal stage play, kind of tells me not to take it all too seriously and I needed that today, thank you!

You know how much I like metaphors in poetry, and you have captured the depth of our life as a one, two, or even a three act play on the stage of life by using most appropriate ones!

Yes, the script of one's life is already written, and we do desire to reap good, gather the roses thrown at our feet, but wanting to continue living to do good and enjoy each day! Hopefully, the play has a happy ending!!
A wonderful write!
