The 80's In My Heart

The 80's In My Heart

The GLORY DAYS of the eighties

Will always be ALIVE AND KICKING

Within my HEART OF ROCK AND ROLL.

It was my time of learning and coming of age,

One thing I remember was thinking I wouldn’t be

THE LAST AMERICAN VIRGIN.

Though I spent many nights DANCING WITH MYSELF

To the monthly CENTERFOLD

My SWEET DREAMS eventually became reality.

Though many would say I was LIVING IN SIN

It would be HARD TO SAY I’M SORRY

Cause I have no regret in living my ELECTRIC YOUTH

For I had four best friends of different ethnic backgrounds

Making us a real MOTLEY CRUE

And I was TOO YOUNG TO FALL IN LOVE

So I was looking for NOTHING BUT A GOOD TIME.

Now days it seems the influences still remain

With so many movie and songs being remade

That there is ALWAYS SOMETHING THERE TO REMIND ME,

But the greatest ones are the memories in my heart

From the decade that made me the man I am today.

So I raise a glass and say CHEERS to the late and always great

80’s!!!

Wow, Cowboy, you freakin' NAILED that decade in song, dude! I love how the poem made me want to drag out each record, as I read the title, and CRANK IT UP!!! Cool, cool stuff, bro! ㋡

The '80s were the last great decade for music in my opinion, although the '70s are arguably better.

Interesting story you told using song titles and group names. I actually don't know half of the songs/groups, but that's probably because I wasn't old enough to remember them when they were new, and consequently it's only the popular stuff I have got to know over the years.

"Always Something There To Remind Me" was written in the 1960s, but I do like the Naked Eyes version from the early '80s.

This is really creative and great celebrating the wonderful 80s and everything that decade meant to those who came of age during those 10 years. Wonderful! May you be a Big Winner in this contest!

Clever! Top contender for gold with this one!
Was this the list of top songs for a certain week or just random songs from the 80's?
The 80's do rock!!
