Long Forgotten

Long Forgotten

A Poem by Anthony Q Armstrong
"

Depressed as all s**t.

"
All the hateful things in my past,
Now long forgotten.
Those three little words,
Are what makes me tick.
Those words now a reminder,
Of what could have been,
Replaced now with,
An unforgivable sin.
A Freak of Nature,
I now am.
Forever left here,
To die all over again.
The last thing you shall hear,
Are the words that hold us dear.
I asked for you to marry me,
I only wish I would have been on one knee.
I've lost the love I once knew,
Now I'm broken in two. I knew that one day,
The love I held for you,
Would come to start anew.
When that day comes,
Can you say "I love you too?".

''Those words now a reminder, of what could have been...''
This line and the lines that follow really emphasize this deep pitted pain that sprouts into What if's and a form of crazy frustration when love's not returned. I liked what and how you spoke this out.
