why speak of love when we are in love?

my mind is clear.

the grays that darken my world disappear when you are near.

you are like a crayon that brightens the walls of my blank canvas heart,

the heart which beats in time with your love's song!

you exclaim with a proud grin.

 

your mastery of words and lines and rhymes is followed with a giggle

 

i love you,

you say quite simply.

 

i love you too,

i return quite as simply.

 

and everything is as it should be.

and then you're gone.
