Sweet

Sweet

A Poem by deedsy
"

It is an old poem that I could use some feedback on please and thank you.

"

My first kiss tasted like my first spoonful of sugar

From that moment i was hooked on the sweetness

My second like honey it never went out of date

But honey was not sweet enough

I'm sorry honey, I wish I could come home

I tried sweeteners that claimed they were as sweet as sugar

That was a lie all of them

I tried syrup, too sticky my fingers and hands were constantly clasped around another

I have been told that sugar rots my teeth

So does time

I've been spending one looking for the other

Ill have no teeth

My mother was right

My words will slide softly along my lips without my jagged teeth to form the precisely beautiful words.

If I have no teeth what will my tongue run along

It will feel like a lost puppy, it will wander

Find nothing

Lay down and wait

My voice will sound frail

Old

They always asked who kissed my teeth out

I can tell you their names one by one where it happened and how it felt.

I never forget the taste of sugar honey syrup or sweeteners, ill use one in my tea.

Now if you'll excuse me I am off to find the right cup of tea.....
