"What of this journey"

Dark Days Of Man

"

Our soul has traveled to the halls of purgatory,
Tormented spirits divested, tremendous drain,
Your cold hand of fate wrenched out this heart
Still beating with loss of faith for humanity.
Dignity lost, with illusions of drowning; a reality,
Deep emotions for morality, lost by treachery.
Karma returns, past evil dimensions; revenge,
Forgiveness of undying love chastised, but cast aside,
Traumatized in mind, revolving dreams at rest, revisited.
Illusion crust, eternity's hellfire lost in self-pity, provoked
Drained of spiritual sensuality to prevail from this path,
What of this journey, cast in the pits of anguish,
Can we rise as the phoenix?

I enjoyed the poem. I have written of the purgatory many times. A place to decide what justice we deserved. I enjoyed the poem flow of thoughts. Made me think of my life and place. Can the phoenix rise again? Only if the heart and mind will it. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
