A Poem by Deepwood's Hart
"

one time i fell in love

"
Me and you let us move slowly
Like continents
Let us fossilize and dissolve into the timeless rock

My biology and your history are like dust
On a page.
Drink with me the rain as it falls on us.

Centimeter by centimeter I have drifted
Into a cave
Limewater drips into lacy teeth.

Molten rock slips beneath us
We converge
Let us form trenches and mountains together.

You settled on my skin, beneath it, tattooing me
In volcanic ash.
Our crater abandoned, let us compress into sandstone.

I like the images that you create here. Your metaphors are well crafted, lively, and unique. It is always nice to see new and inventive work.

I love the lines:
My biology and your history are like dust
On a page.
Drink with me the rain as it falls on us.

I'm sure I will come back to them often.

here's a beauty; you give your gift of words into this loving vessel, like a treasure dug from time's unfolding grace
