A Poem by deer-heart
"

The inevitable crossroads; the inevitable end.

"

a split in the path
an end; inevitable
but which one?
can't I stand here forever?
no; they follow close behind,
the future in their pockets
they will pass me by,
choose a path
and I must trail after
an end; inevitable
I wish I could stand still
stare fate in the eye until
the end of everything,
not just my own,
but all there was
all there is
and all that shall ever be
but the future draws ever near;
a split in the path
which way holds the end,
my end?
it is... inevitable.

The unchangeable ending for everyone, death. Every one wishes they had more time, hell i wish that we never died, but unfortunately we do, we grow old and wither away. Just have to make the absolute most of this life, and hope for an afterlife afterwards, if not then at least you made the most of what you had... anyway kudos on a good write..i liked it.

i love this piece. please don't be offended but it reminds me of those choose-your-own-adventure books. i imagine this is a deciding moment in a daring adventure, one way leads to inescapable disaster and the other holds a glint of hope. it woke up my imagination! great write.
