Reasons why...

Reasons why...

A Poem by Phillitup

Reasons why...
you're my friend,
I care,
we stick together,
you're amazing,
we are perfect,
you listen.
Yes,
only some of the reasons why...
I couldn't live without you.

Author's Note

Phillitup
Cheesy but true, and sadly so. One would think that a person should prefer themselves or couldn't live without food or water but for one to truly live they must have a friend who won't turn their back on them. So true, I'm lucky. It has been a little over one year since I met some of the best friends in my life. Sadly, one of them isn't happy. I want her to be happy because she means so much to me. At the root of this it sounds like I am looking out for her. I am ashamed because I feel so selfish. Trying to save her from thoughts because I couldn't possibly live without one of my best friends. I hope life gets better for her because I hate to see her like this but I will support her through thick and thin. I just hope she remembers that.

That's really sweet. I hope she gets better, too. She must be really glad that she has a friend like you. I think that she wants to get better, but she thinks she can't. After reading your "Author's Note", I can see that she means a lot to you, and ves versa. You really shouldn't feel ashamed or selfish; she wouldn't want you to. You couldn't have stopped the thoughts that reached her; don't get too down. Her life will get better, but I think she just doesn't want to admit it to herself that it will. Saying that you stick together, I think of me and my friend; we are like glue, or a little girl with icecream. I know, icecream, weird, but I really want some and there's some in my freezer. Point is, it reminds me of my friend and I. She listens, because she doesn't want to loose you, too, it seems. Even though this is "cheesy", it's deep. I truly love this. 100/100

Sometimes truth can come across as cheesy, unimpressing lines. In this case, it is beautifully portrayed. Well done my friend on this short, caring poem.

short but says it all, very sweet but has a deep meaning behind this poem.
I really like this poem, as they say less is more and shows that there people out there who know what true friends really means.

Indeed, you're correct. Among the circle of friends that we see, we couldn't possibly think that all of them are happy with one another. Secrets are shared among them but the deepest ones remain within themselves. I hope that your friend will know that there is truly someone out there, like you, who cares for her. I suggest that you make her feel that she belongs and earn her trust. The final decision will have her voice though. I like how you get this simple but expressive poem to project many principles. The message is already in the poem and reading this is truly a pleasure. Thank you!

I don't think it's that detailed but you're welcome anyway. Just go towards the light!
This is such a sweet poem and you are such a good friend to be thinking of her and her well being! She is very lucky to have you and I'm sure things will look up for her as long as she has such a supportive friend! :)
