You Can't Be Gay At Chic Fil A

You Can't Be Gay At Chic Fil A

A Poem by Baby Ricochet

You can't be gay at Chic Fil A

They scream at drag queens

THAT'S NOT OK!!

No you can't be gay at Chik Fil A

It's all family values at Chic Fill A

Just Fll out this sexual history resume

and swear on this bible you're not gay

Then you can eat at Chic Fil A

TV'S blairing at Chic Fil A

NASCAR and fox news that's all they play

Watch project runway your soul can't be saved

No gay agenda at Chic Fil A

Lady Gaga can't eat at Chic Fil A

Cause they know she swings both ways

You know what I'd love to see one of these days

Gaga and Rihanna making out at Chic Fil A

With all this controversy and all this noise

aimed as usual at gay boys

With all the yelling and all the banter

I'll just eat at Colonel Sanders

OH MY GOD. I just came to read - and wasn't going to comment because I didn't want to wander off on a tangent - but I can't help it. The banner ad below your poem? "Do you support Chick fil A? Vote now! (falls over keyboard laughing) Your poem is great! Now for the tangent. I am an accountant by trade - and unfortunately many business people think they can get more bang for their buck by pushing off the HR bit onto the accountant's desk. Unfortunately many accountants are hard edged and not touchy feely people people - so tossing HR at them is like tossing a salad at a tiger. I'm no exception. To me - if you want a job - there is a culture - and a structure within that job to which you must abide. If you don't like it - go find another job. The exception would be a "Hostile" or unsafe work environment but honestly - your sexual orientation is not my business. Can you flip a burger? Can you do brain surgery? Is your mint green hair spray shedding into my Pepsi? Are you wearing so much metal in your piercings that you are causing the magnetic poles to shift? That is what matters to me. Can you do the job for which you were hired without causing a rip in the space time continuum? I've worked with homosexuals and the only time its ever been an "issue" was one woman who put her size "are you kidding" D's on top of my hands while I was filing paperwork and said - "A lot of people here don't like me. I think its because of my sexual orientation." (um how about its because you just dropped your tata's on my arms and I"m PINNED in the file drawer?) Seriously, its a funny poem and I laughed. I'm not homosexual. I don't always 'get' my friends and family who are - but the bottom line in the work place is - can ya do yer job? That is what matters.

I've never eaten at Chic Fil A and I'm not gay but I too like you will stick with the Colonel. Honestly what is wrong with people? Another funny poem. I too will google Chic Fil A and find out what they've been up to.

The colonel knows chicken. Thank you Blue
I usually try to avoid politics left, right, straight gay or otherwise. But the tongue in cheek cleverness of this poem has piqued my interested. I'm going to have to Google this, curiosity has overwhelmed me.

thank you OB
Its sad how we are being judged on our sexuality. F*****g stupid (pardon my french) Love is love, why does it matter?
This made me laugh so hard though, but it does have an important message behind it.

Thank you girl.
I don't eat at chic fil a simply cause I don't want to fund anti-gay groups. Their food is good though...I miss it :( Very good poem. I like it :)

i guess i live in the bible belt, old friends used to ask why i would take up for those gay people, i never could understand how they called themselves christians and judged, nobody ever won

but now, i know why i fight so fiercely and i'm glad that i didn't just jump on the bandwagon cause somebody i love came out

Thanks for reading
I really enjoyed reading this! It was current and "not just another love song." I always love things that make me giggle and yet it had a meaningful message. This was a great read!

This is such a good poem. In a fun ironical tone, you have said a major issue of the present day. I, for one, think gays , being as human as any of us, deserve to get equal rights, after all, if loving is a crime then all we need is more and more number of world wars. And if not, then we need to wash our face to take the dirt off our eyes. Nice one! :-)

Just stumbled on this one - LOVE IT! This was such a disgrace - how dare Chic-fil-A deny anyone their deep fried poison! On second thought, let all the bigots and ignoramuses eat there, die young, and leave the world to decent, open-minded, freedom-loving people!
