OH MY GOD. I just came to read - and wasn't going to comment because I didn't want to wander off on a tangent - but I can't help it. The banner ad below your poem? "Do you support Chick fil A? Vote now! (falls over keyboard laughing) Your poem is great! Now for the tangent. I am an accountant by trade - and unfortunately many business people think they can get more bang for their buck by pushing off the HR bit onto the accountant's desk. Unfortunately many accountants are hard edged and not touchy feely people people - so tossing HR at them is like tossing a salad at a tiger. I'm no exception. To me - if you want a job - there is a culture - and a structure within that job to which you must abide. If you don't like it - go find another job. The exception would be a "Hostile" or unsafe work environment but honestly - your sexual orientation is not my business. Can you flip a burger? Can you do brain surgery? Is your mint green hair spray shedding into my Pepsi? Are you wearing so much metal in your piercings that you are causing the magnetic poles to shift? That is what matters to me. Can you do the job for which you were hired without causing a rip in the space time continuum? I've worked with homosexuals and the only time its ever been an "issue" was one woman who put her size "are you kidding" D's on top of my hands while I was filing paperwork and said - "A lot of people here don't like me. I think its because of my sexual orientation." (um how about its because you just dropped your tata's on my arms and I"m PINNED in the file drawer?) Seriously, its a funny poem and I laughed. I'm not homosexual. I don't always 'get' my friends and family who are - but the bottom line in the work place is - can ya do yer job? That is what matters.

I almost forgot about this commotion; the thing about Lady Gaga and Rihanna was hilarious, and THAT would certainly get on the news. I've always liked Chic Fil A for their fabulous food, (especially the waffle fries) and I have the liberty to eat wherever I choose to. As long as I'm not harming anyone, that's fine. Yet people get worked up so easily. I'm going to eat this burger, gay or not! Good job, Baby Ricochet, good job.

I never did understand that whole media commotion . . . all the owner ever did was state his own personal opinion and beliefs, which everyone has a right to . . . he never said he hated gays, or gays couldn't work there, or anything else. And yet the vultures of the press on both sides, conservative and liberal, simply pounced on him. I would love it so much if the American news media would learn how to simply reoprt the truly important news, honestly and fairly, and leave everyone else the hell alone. Frankly I couldn't care less if someone is gay or not--if I go to Chic Fil-A, it's for their great sandwiches and their ice cream (though I'll admit, KFC does taste better sometimes)

I thought the press over played the story too but it was sensational and that's what feeds the media. With all the scary s**t to worry about in the world today all the hysteria over gay marriage to me is just stupid. I don't give a rats a*s one way or another.

Awww hell, c'mon people! I just took my brother-in-law there only yesterday. Know why we were at Chik-Fil-A, which is about 40 miles west of our little town? 'Cause he was buyin' an "outfit" for his upcoming "wedding" ceremony next month. Guess what the lucky bride-to-be's name is? Todd! It appears, gay or nay, they both can't get enough of those waffle fries...go figure!

Funny write on a not so funny situation. I don't eat there except when I visit my daughter in Colorado as she has two little kids who like their food, but she certainly doesn't agree with their judgmental agenda . I'm going out there in Oct and this trip I think I'll pass on Chic Fil A

I kinda wondered when this would come to the Cafe. You wrote it well, with honesty and humor combined. The Lady Gaga thing was funny.

I will eat there if I get hungry and it's nearby. (I would have to drive to another town first, then find it on purpose.)
I also will continue to use Amazon who supports the opposite view.

Huckebee found a slow news day and blew this up. He made the news with his opinions and thoughts, rather than just reporting the news as an announcer should; but, doesn't anymore.

NASCAR and Project Runway... Both are cool in their own way. So is "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, with a dose of "Deadliest Catch" and "NCIS."
