SlaughterHouse Dreams

SlaughterHouse Dreams

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

It's a poem. With rhymes and s**t.

"

Got a job in a slaughterhouse
on top of grinding gears
Strapping pigs to electric chairs
for bovine profiteers

Wrap hooves with conductor wire
Then throw the killing switch
I work for piss and vinegar
Make profits for the rich

Exploit the lands of Africa
Cow them with the lash
Our founding fathers ambitions
A slave holder's panache

Running guns across the desert
Rape the land for spoils
Waging war for profit margins
The price of diamond oil

Exploiting fears of terrorism
So hate can germinate
Turn the land of milk and honey
Into a fascist state

Ride the backs of common people
Until we're broken down
Profiteers eat all our children
while we all slowly drowned

Working in this slaughterhouse
listening to the screams
Watching entrails on the walls
turn into payday dreams

Stick electrodes into piggy
one last screaming squeal
Hit the switch electric twitch
then hang it on the wheel

Bacon is awesome
I'm disgusted. Wanted to run away after just the first stanza. It's like a horror film. Even the photo is gruesome. But I read the whole damn thing. Nice job on providing me with nightmares. :)

I gotta start catching up on your work. I like the way you write man, you always speak your mind and you write about things no one else does and thats what I try to do. I give it a 15 out of 10

Not a problem. Keep writing!
the ham, the loin , the shoulder
the whole thing
squealing into the grinder
Obedient unquestioning freedom
it is not the work it is what we bring to it.

Really touching, good and disgusting just the way this business is. I love your stark descriptive style.

thanks for stopping by curiocity. I appreciate it.
Wow, this is intense and powerful (both politically and emotionally)! Somehow (and this is not a complaint), it reminds me of Nine Inch Nails' lyrics from The Downward Spiral era (perhaps all the "piggy" imagery).

And I can relate to the message of feeling as though you're at the bottom of the barrel, doing all the hard work while the people at the top profit and exploit the workers - I've had a number of very physical jobs, where I was doing that kind of work, and you elicit those memories very well.

I'm assuming this is based on personal experience? Excellent write!!
