SlaughterHouse Dreams

SlaughterHouse Dreams

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

It's a poem. With rhymes and s**t.

"

Got a job in a slaughterhouse
on top of grinding gears
Strapping pigs to electric chairs
for bovine profiteers

Wrap hooves with conductor wire
Then throw the killing switch
I work for piss and vinegar
Make profits for the rich

Exploit the lands of Africa
Cow them with the lash
Our founding fathers ambitions
A slave holder's panache

Running guns across the desert
Rape the land for spoils
Waging war for profit margins
The price of diamond oil

Exploiting fears of terrorism
So hate can germinate
Turn the land of milk and honey
Into a fascist state

Ride the backs of common people
Until we're broken down
Profiteers eat all our children
while we all slowly drowned

Working in this slaughterhouse
listening to the screams
Watching entrails on the walls
turn into payday dreams

Stick electrodes into piggy
one last screaming squeal
Hit the switch electric twitch
then hang it on the wheel

Bravo! Bravo! Now that just disproves the saying that you can't make a silk purse from a pig's ear (!). Bravo! Sheer joy to read, style and content, a real world in one poem. Encore!

These days truth lies in the dark. Glad to see some people can still see out there. I feel like this poem belongs on the steps of Capitol Hill...

this world we live in - Well written and i had to lol when i read your authors note... i was

Your very welcome:)
This is great! The rhythm, the images, the under lined theme, tethered with double bladed meaning This felt real to life to me. Like the cattle resistance you conveyed lead to slaughter ,this hit home, and I am cut and packaged and still processing the meat you put into this very vivid well put together piece....great job!

I like the way you made a poem about the realistic confusion people fail to see this time around. If they think they are in a world where no problems are present; they are wrong. They should look at the whole; and this poem definitely shows, how people kill to survive.

I love this... I don't know why... It's just such a great representation of the evolution of our world, a magnificent political statement. Actually reminded me of Animal Farm, because animals and politics. But really great job Baby. The world is definitely twisted here..
