Epic Fail

My first write in over a year. For those of you who don't know my shtick I write in plain language with a lot of swearing thrown in so any yokel can understand it. I'm not much for subtleties.

I swear I heard all this before

I did a double take

You let it slip right through your grasp 

That's some fucked up mistake 

Plagiarizing your enemy 

Whom you claim corrupt

I gotta tell ya pookey bear 

That couldn't be more fucked 

Then pretend it didn't happen 

Oh that worked out just great 

You gave the enemy ammo 

served on a silver plate 

There's people out there hard at work 

They're chomping at the bit 

Waiting for you to f**k s**t up 

Then bury you with it 

These people are professionals 

At slinging all the mud 

The media's not too keen on you 

They want to see your blood

Your crew's a pack of amateurs 

Your strategy's a joke  

Keep playing to the stupid folk 

With hatreds you provoke

BENGAZI! BENGAZI! BENGAZI! 

The same old email line  

A broken record in my ear 

You just sound asinine

You're playing in the big leagues now 

The fix it could be in

My confidence is negative 

You're never gonna win

So was her speech writer a "closet" Dem or what? None of the big guys write their own speeches afterall. How did the guy find the thing to copy from - without intent? Someone had to do some sort of Search and those are reviewable EVEN if you delete it from the local machine. Sounds sort of planned somehow - follow the money.

I swear, everything I've read on this year's election has been pretty forgettable . . . UNTIL NOW! Finally, finally, finally, someone has written something truly remarkable about a campaign that's short on remarkable aspects. I like that you've written this without a partisan slant, it could be that you are on either side, & your words ring true like a diamond reflects rainbow prisms all around. This goes so much further than any of the hoards of political commentators tried to do during the controversy. You've touched on the parts that are most unbelievable in their ridiculousness. Esp: "Plagiarizing your enemy whom you claim corrupt" . . . and stanzas 4, 5, & 6, which are so so so spot-on & well-stated.

Am an interested Brit, so forgive me intruding. Have read your two poems, both candidates treated to your impeccable side swipes, written maybe tongue in cheek or knife in fist.. whichever.. candid, say it how you think phrasing.

To be honest, considering the greatness of your country.. how come two people like that are standing? Doubt there's a politician in this world who's pure as snow. But, are your two the best available? Or. is it that a wise man, able to choose his or her advisers and back up.. won't step forward cos is too intelligent/logical/experienced and mostly, ETHICAL as can be for the job?

Guess my questions, thoughts, might well apply to most countries... like it or not we're all stnading on the edge of a global slip off the edge for as long as we fail to work together.. not gonna happen though, is it!!

The Republicans along with right wing media have been feeding their audience a steady stream of fear mongering misinformation for decades. Since the election of Obama & the advent of the tea party the Republican party's been split between the establishment & the extremists. That and the 2008 economic meltdown with all the bailouts for the rich leaving the rest of us holding the bag for what they did wrong. America saw that & concluded (rightly as well) the political system's rigged & Washington doesn't have the average American's interests in mind. When Trump says the system is rigged because Obama gave everyone's jobs away to foreigners it resonates with a lot of angry white people who know they're getting screwed but don't actually know why. Trump pedals easy answers to complicated problems to an electorate of angry rubes the republicans have been deliberately stoking for years. They got what they deserved with Trump. They just didn't see him coming. Hillary's the establishment's candidate. That's why she's done as well as she has despite her glaring deficits & that's why she's as unpopular as she is. She'll be getting the Latino, African American, Women's & LGBTQ, vote so she should defeat Trump rather soundly. THat is of course unless voter turn out is historically low which might happen. We had this same problem in 04 when Bush ran against John Cary. Both candidates were unpopular figures & the voter turnout was down. It's way crazier this time though. THat's for sure

You've told me in one great stream what dozens of Media stuff failed to give coherently - and with near neutrality. . Thank you. You've set an open summation (Grief, its Sunday and am using words with more than three letters!) Thank you for letting me join in what's a very good post and a follow up of fine reviews.. Aim to learn something new every day.. matter of keeping eyes open, ears clean and mouth shut - two out of three isn't bad.

No doubt there might have been some shenanigans here, but that means you didn't hire trustworthy people, now doesn't it? Also, if you have anything relevant to say, your speech writers collab with you to make your OWN words great. She obviously doesn't have anything that doesn't come out of a can to say. I do not envy you your choice in the States this election, but no one is playing any cleaner than anyone else ... Great political poem here.
