Oasis

Oasis

A Poem by demureminds

Would you be my oasis

as I crawl wondrously

through hot desert sands?

The blanket of

palms,

awaiting my arrival;

blowing me away

with Greenland’s wind,

and sleep’s serenity.

The dancing stars,

crooning moon

as night tip toes,

over day.

The waltzing life

mingling

beneath the

eventide shade?

You couldn’t be,

though,

the haze

I saw as I approached

wet hills,

only to conceive

it was just a mirage…

You couldn’t be.

This expresses the hope of a savior in a relationship, only to realize it was an illusion that was created in our minds. Amazing and clever indeed!

Thank you, and you got the message exactly as I wanted to portray it! (:
