Sinful

Sinful

A Poem by Emily

Lust,Greed
Gluttony,Sloth
Pride, Envy
Wrath
I'm pretty sure I've committed them all.

The only way to escape my fate
Is to subscribe to a new set of rules
Rules I've already broken.
How can they accept me?

A new life is guaranteed
Thousands take the offer,
But old habits die hard.

I know I'm a sinner,
But at least I'm not the only one.

"Give me your tired,
Your poor,
Your huddled masses..."
And I'll give them hope.
Is that what it is? Is that what I need?
Or am I just a sinner,
Destined to go down?
