Chasing Sleep

Chasing Sleep

A Poem by dillonjensen
"

One sheep, two sheep,...

"
She's chasing sleep,
And I'm chasing dreams.
Dreams of her lips on my cheek.

Funny how I only see her when my eyes close.
She's so vividly painted into my head though,
And her voice echoes like a siren luring me in.

A poem about an aching heart, how marvelous! It's not easy being away from the one you desire...the line that hit me the most was: "Funny how I only see her when my eyes close," simply because it seems as if whenever your eyes are opened, she seems to not exist. Stunning & haunting words. Great job!
