The Liquidity of Verse

The Liquidity of Verse

A Poem by Audrey Howitt
"

just another meandering

"

fine mist of words

colored by grammatical powdering

settle upon line and space

neither powder nor liquid

a sense of wonderment

aligns its arc with the verve of enlightenment

on the eve of nature’s unseen adventure

pilgrim

lost in the stars of eyes

I stand with the whispers

of promise at my back

and the shine of penciled mist

before me

Thank you!
I loved how you threw in the word "pilgrim" to help define a voyager..a discoverer. Captivated I am by your beautiful penning.

"meandering" and flowing....not to mention liquid, Audrey
I loved every line...well almost every line...still trying to figure out how "pilgrim" fits in...except perhaps to clarify, and distinguish "unseen adventure".
but sighs to: ..."lost in the stars of eyes...whispers of promise at my back and the shine of penciled mist before me."
very poetic and ethereal, Audrey
wonderful write

until then
Pilgrim, I was rolling along great until "Pilgrim" and it's not your fault, It's just the world gives us all these kick starts, so when I see Pilgrim, I hear John Wayne,
"You better watch your step Pilgrim ,or your gonna be pushing up daisies"I've never had a" whisper of promise at my back",usually a swift boot in the "coma se yama"Casey,my father, was a doer not a talker,so thank you for " the shine of penciled mist"I see him flying through it in my mind. Maybe with a little focus tonight when my body locks down for some evolutionary reason I can not explain I will dream of him Flying over the clouds ,Flying ,a prostitute, no visible means of support,B-26 Marauder, bringing the shell of his plane home .Steering on engine power alone, tail-gunner dead, the mole navigating,Douglas Duster flying through the shine of your penciled mist so I can be here today.
