Wave crashes upon wave

In the blackness of the ocean

Relentlessly pulling sand from under my feet

Unsteady toes dig deeper gaining purchase

How like my heart . . .

Vivid imagery in such few words. Coincidentally, yesterday, I was thinking of this very theme of waves' undertow pulling the sand from beneath my feet causing me to flail into the deep waters of trance.
