Open Wounds

Just read it

These open wounds just won't heal,
One by one they burn and bleed intensely,
Ripping deeper and wider with eachday,
Falling apart from these wounds that weaken me,

Even when they are not seen the wounds still hurt,
Speaking is confusing and it's spewing hurt and pain,
The darkness that has come from this no light,
How does the breakthrough come from all this chaos,

Open wounds that just won't heal,
Open wounds that just come to steal,
Open wounds that numb wanting to feel,
Open wounds that make it harder to deal,

Love can endure all of this misery but it's fleeting,
A warm embrace can numb the pain but it's failing,
A person to listen helps but is ripping them piece by piece,
Commited to change but the energy is running thin,

These open wounds are drowning me,
These open wounds are blinding me,
These open wounds are restraining me,
These open wounds are crippling me,

I need rest ......

this reads like a very dark and painful place to be .. I find myself wondering whether it is autobiographical or a product of a poets vivid imagination .. I certainly don't mean to pry but if the former, then I hope getting so much off your chest had some cathartic value .. wishing you all good things regardless .. Neville

The reader is left in no doubt here of the rawness of these wounds. Time is a great healer. I do believe that most wounds of the heart soften over time even if they aren’t completely eradicated. Pleased I stopped by.
