No Anger

No Anger

A Poem by df

You sadden me.
Painting the blackest of murals
onto my walls, you sicken me.
You kill the brightness,
draping violet velvet
across my every sun.
Taunting me,
you run your delicate fingers
across the iron bars,
jingling the steel fetters
squeezing every neuron
out of place.
Sanity no longer holds.
You hold.
You hold me through time
You hold me through space
And you smile wickedly,
letting out innocent laughs
like the sounds of singing birds.
You sadden me.
but you do not anger me.

it is like being stuck in a cage woven of invisible threads. i am an orange meticulously squeezed until the fibers of being protest and are squashed against my peel, while the jailer drinks. i sing for my jailer when i wish to weep. there is no more anger, only sad silence. tumbleweeds. i will write poems he will never read.
