A Poem by h d e rushin

Somewhere,
delusional billionaire's
are caught between running secrets
to the threshold of danger
to
building pyramids on the border
for peritoneal, Christian unity.
While
the rest of the world swells from
old ovaries and "Bachelorette" reruns.
Wont plant begonia's
because their fragrance is mysterious.
While the coal plants, like the lover
in his Wrangler jeans,
never returned. Like the dairy farmer
who sold his last heifer, the one
who without calf, grabbed at
her matted hair, as hay.
When the dangerous steel mill closed it's
petals into it's iron body
and rolled away.

It’s chaos, discontent and selfishness seems to dominate society today. Nicely written Dana.

thank you dearest Andrew...…..dana
hmm.... looks like i wrote of what you just wrote of simultaneously about steel mills:) The title as Mr. Kentuck said is awesomeness in fact I think the title is a poem in itself! I have an affection for Detroit I get many folks that visit the store from your town and we always talk about the shared experiences we have. The neighborhood I have my store and now live in was once a bunch of boarded up storefronts and abandoned houses JL steel was my next door neighbor slag heap and brownfield. Its is now gentrified and filled with dog walkers (it is my experience that the true barometer for when a neighborhood flips is the amount of dog walkers per capita I call it the bunny real escape theory) I now hate my neighborhood and want to leave and not count myself amongst the entitled masses but I'm stuck to this bidness! I loved this poem Dana I would like to say maybe we would learn from our mistakes but that is of course silly and incredibly unhuman

Dana,
I like your title . . . It is a 'careless' world out there! Loved the images here. A sadness is laid deep in these lines.

thank you dearest....jewels and more jewels.....dana
you remind us of how the present times are so different and so hard for so many...the miners, coal workers...and my friends the farmers of Vermont trying so hard to make a living still doing what they know and love.
it is so sad...the old days and old careers are becoming fossils of themselves...
a world we can hardly keep up with...
i want to go back to the old days...i don't like living here.
excellent write that tells it like it is...
